MemshareFAQ

FAQ

Quick answers about importing media, captions, translation, and your account.

What is Memshare?

Memshare helps you import YouTube videos, podcasts, or direct media URLs, auto-generate Japanese captions, and study with furigana plus Japanese-to-Chinese translation.

How do I add media?

In the app or web client, tap Add, choose YouTube URL or Direct URL, paste the link, and save. When processing finishes, the item appears in your library.

What’s the difference between YouTube and Direct URL?

YouTube is for playing public videos in the app without hosting files yourself. Direct URL is for publicly reachable audio/video file links. If the link is YouTube, use the YouTube import option instead.

How are captions and translations generated?

After import, speech recognition runs in the background to build sentence-level Japanese captions. Furigana and JA→ZH translation can be added automatically. Time depends on media length and load.

What if transcription is inaccurate?

Automatic captions can miss names, accents, or noisy audio. You can still jump by sentence while shadowing. We’re continually improving recognition and translation quality.

Do I need an account?

Yes. Sign in to sync your library and keep your study content. Use email to register or log in; reset your password from the login screen if needed.

What is Quota?

Quota shows how much processing time you have left in the current period. It resets when the period ends; exact rules may change as the product evolves.

Is my data safe?

We only use account and media data needed to provide the service, and we don’t sell personal information. See the Privacy Policy for details.

When will the mobile app launch?

The mobile app is coming soon. You can already import media and study captions on the web today.
